Andy serves as a Green Party Councillor for both Suffolk County Council, and Mid Suffolk District Council, where he is the current Leader.
Andy's background is in agriculture: he runs a mixed farming business with several small parcels of land spread across several parishes.
Previous experience includes six years working in education and development in Nigeria and Malawi. He studied at Writtle Agricultural college and later gained an MSc in Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development from Imperial College.
In 2025, Andy was named the new co-president of UK100, the national network committed to tackling the climate crisis at local level. Members of the UK100 network have all pledged to meet ambitious climate targets ahead of the government's 2050 goal.
