Caroline was a well-respected and hardworking Suffolk county councillor, elected to the Woodbridge division in 2008. She achieved a great deal during her time in office, not only for those living and working in Woodbridge, but those across Suffolk through her wider responsibilities at the county council. She held many positions within the council, including being the spokesperson for Women, Disabilities and Adult care, Highways and Transport and Deputy Leader for the Liberal Democrat, Green and Independent Group. She was also responsible for setting up a 'rainbow alliance' on Woodbridge Town Council that saw it win in 2019, and again in East Suffolk District Council, seeing it win control in May 2023, just a few months before she passed away following a courageous battle with cancer.
