Chris du Feu is a retired teacher of mathematics now living in Fife. He has a lifelong interest in environmental matters, wildlife recording and conservation. He is a bird ringer.and was editor of the British Trust for Ornithology Nestboxes Guide for about 30 years.

His interest in slugs started when he found Tree Slugs cohabiting with the birds in his nestboxes. It was downhill from there and he now finds himself to be the national verifier of slug records on iRecord. He once appeared on BBC's Spring Watch talking about the intriguing, charismatic Tree Slug.
