Dave has, for past 5 years, been an unpaid carer for his disabled partner, due to a rapid deterioration in a condition that suddenly came on 10 years ago.

In his early career Dave spent 20 years in social work, in a childcare team, specialising in drug and alcohol abuse and dealing with some of the first HIV patients in the UK and then worked in the charity sector.
