A new environmental movement is quietly shaking up UK politics
After years of neglect, rural voters are abandoning the Tories and Labour to back a radical green conservation movement
Dr Nicholas Beuret
Nicholas joined Essex Business School in 2017, after previously working as a researcher at Lancaster Environment Centre and many years working in the Environmental Non-Governmental Organisation sector. His research work focuses on climate change, environmental politics, the transition to a low carbon economy, degrowth and the commons. He is currently undertaking research collaborations on climate migration in Europe, the role of net zero as an organising principle for GreenTech start-ups, and profiteering within the green transition economy.
His teaching is focused on contemporary issues in sustainability, political economy, innovation, degrowth and alternative approaches to organisations including the commons. He is a member of the Centre for Commons Organising, Values Equalities and Resilience, and a number of external commons-focused projects including The Institute for Commons.
