Agro-forestry, or ‘forest gardening’, simply means growing edible plants in a low maintenance environment. Nik Thomson explains how.
Nik Thomson is a leading horticulturalist who has led outreach education for the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew Gardens. Since then he has had an exciting and varied career, including designing and overseeing the creation of gardens, participating in the Chelsea Flower Show, lecturing in Garden History and Horticultural Science at the University of Birmingham, as a consultant to the National Trust for Scotland and other prestigious organisations and managing major projects, including currently, engaging prisoners in horticulture.
