Paul studied Medicine at the University of Manchester. His research interests are the epidemiology of emerging infectious disease, especially that linked to environmental factors. Also in teaching medical students that infectious diseases remain a major cause of morbidity and mortality even in developed societies, but especially in developing countries. And getting across the message that research is fun, especially research into infectious disease.
