Robert earned his PhD is from the University of Wales. After teaching literature and philosophy at a number of universities, he became Professor of Contemporary Literature and Thought at Royal Holloway, University of London. He's published widely on contemporary literature, European philosophy and on Holocaust and Genocide studies. He also write for non-academic audiences, and have spoken at many literary festivals and public events.
