Never pretend you were not warned explicitly by many, including me, that Truss was serially incompetent, misguided, a hopeless communicator and driven solely by narcissistic ambition.

The whole of government knew what would happen, yet you ignored Sunak’s detailed analysis of her policies and supported chaos, huge indebtedness for the country and for everyone with a mortgage. I hope you will apologise unreservedly for circulating the Central Office generated nonsense you sent round last week, attempting to justify the unjustifiable.
I suppose you watched the so-called press conference and have now listened to Hunt’s ultimata?
But we need a public statement from you, apologising for the mess you helped create for so many families living on the edge. For all the measures you have recently voted through or vetoed, polluting the beaches, not extending free school meals, not updating Universal Credit in line with inflation… that have had and are having now such disastrous consequences for so many of your own poorest constituents.
We saw you braying along with the herd when that catastrophic mini budget was introduced. You raised no objections.
How are you feeling now about MPs receiving hugely subsidised meals whilst poor kids are being refused free school lunches?
Will you demand that water companies stop allowing sewage to be discharged against the rules?
Will you tighten the rules, claw back bonuses paid to those executives who fail year after year to do their job!
Will you table an amendment to end tax relief for so called “public” schools?
I’m not sure many ordinary people can afford the £18,000 per year now charged by most prep schools. Why would anyone subsidise educational apartheid?
