It is with interest that I read the article on ‘Victory and disappointment for River Deben campaigners‘.
I wonder whether the continuing house building taking place up-river in Debenham is having an impact on the amount of sewage being released into the river? I am willing to be corrected but I am not sure that there is any upgrading to the treatment works that serves Debenham, in order to cope with the increased population.
On a slightly different note it would seem that the blue plaque for Thérèse Coffey placed on a public toilet in Woodbridge has been well-earned. My own MP, Dan Poulter, certainly does not seem overly bothered by the sewage situation, despite being a doctor. But then again any action by the water companies would cost money and of course this would bite into their dividends and profits.
I supposes they’ll just up their bills again if they are forced to do the work.
