Here comes a list of 40+ festivals that are expected to take place in East Anglia Bylines‘ patch during calendar 2022. The patch is Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. Corrections and additions are welcome, but EAB can’t take responsibility for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the information here and its shortcomings.
The list (linked below) shows the festivals in date order. For the user, that’s manageable with a list of 40-odd, and I don’t know if an ordering by county or theme would be any better.
I hope you find some that you don’t already know. Making the list has widened my own horizons quite a bit. I plan to get to some of the festivals. After Covid’s depredations of cultural life, of all life, the planning of events like these is a bold move. Will they happen? Will they have to be online? Or hybrid? Who will manage what they do online or in hybrid form, and will hybridity be easier or a double complication?
They should be fun for somebody. You may know Eleanor Bron’s spoof of an entertainment organiser, praising the audience’s turn-out for the event as a thing that recalls wartime sacrifice. None of the events here should be approached in that spirit.
So my hope for 2022 is that these festivals happen!
You can find the full list here, colour-coded for county.
