This cartoon is relevant to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, which is being debated in the House of Lords on Monday 17 January (and which has been reported on previously by East Anglia Bylines). Some anti-protest measures were inserted as amendments into the bill by the Home Secretary Priti Patel after the Bill was voted on by MPs. It is now up to the Lords to challenge these amendments (if enough of them can remain until late on Monday night).
These amendments were the subject of #KillTheBill protests yesterday in towns and cities across the country.
